I remember the C6 ZR1 could do over 100kph in 1st gear. It had immense torque from the supercharged engine though. I think if they shortened the gearing it would have immense traction problem. Maybe they just did it to give the ZR1 and the new Z06 an impressive 0-100 time with minimum traction problems....who knows.
Either way...they have very impressive 0-100 times and handling for front engine RWD vehicles.
