All I can say is that do not dismiss the tech as worthless, does not hurt to learn. I own some Litecoins and betting on Doge for a quick cash. In the USA are talks about a "Fed Coin", so that tells me the Fed Reserve is messing around with the idea.

I would strongly suggest you need to accelerate your own learning on the topic and steer away from the paranoia while you do. It's a binary topic not an emotive one. This is not dismissal it is called pragmatism

I am not paranoic, I do not sit with my phone all day watching these coins going up or down in value. All I do is observe and place some bets here and there. I do not consider myself an expert on Cryptos, but I do know enough to understand on how to use them.

An interesting thought occurs while reading this. Bitcoin is highly likely to be dead within our lifetimes. Pretty much every Bitcoin holder will take their Bitcoin to the grave with them as custody is only assured when you have the keys (and no one else does).

Unless you put your Bitcoin keys in a safety deposit box that can only be opened upon your death (most Bitcoin maximalists won’t do this as they then have to trust the banking system with their safety deposit box) your Bitcoin will expire (be unobtainable) along with you.

Any coin might but blockchain won't. Whether a token of value is attached or not. It provides invaluable technologies that we are slowly becoming dependent on. Banks can't ignore it, neither can governments. In time it will become a regulated part of the worldwide economic portfolio

Protecting mnemonics can be done securely a number of ways that includes a next of kin capability and doesn't involve a safety deposit box

I don't think block chain. crypto in it's current form will survive, it will need to evolve.
