Dash and heating/air con switches lights(bulbs) size

Hi again,

3rd thread for the night! So i've tried searching the forum and honestly I can't find out what size bulb I need to buy to replace the stock one's in the Dash/instrument cluster. Are they T5's? What about for the 3 switch aircon/heater panel? are they neo wedge 4, 4.2 or 4.7??

I'm planning on replacing the stock bulbs(as half of them have blown) with LED's but I can't for the life of me, find out the exact bulb size. I've found out how to replace them so at least I've got that part covered.

Surely there's one forum member who has an idea and would like to share!

I`m not sure on the type but , when I replaced mine I went to the stealership, $10ea thank #### I only needed one.
You may have some luck as a lot of guys have done colour changes so might help with some tips.

they are a gm specific light bulb and there are many variations
you will need your vin number and call holden
take your old globes with you as i have so many that were not correct
globes are now around $18 each
if i get time later i will list part numbers i know

ps traction and economy switch globes are now discontinued but i think they are the same as hazard globe with a different coloured condom

are the kits plug and play? i.e. just straight swapping the original bulbs to SMD Led's. Do you need to solder/wire in resistors? I've read in some some posts that you need to wire resistors in to stop hot spots associated with SMD LED 's and in some posts that say you don't?

$18?!!!! WTF?! and i'll need at least 6 of these right? talk about getting bent over and ****** in the ***! Wouldn't it be cheaper and logical for example, to buy a second hand heater/aircon switch/panel/controls with working bulbs (assuming i go the bulb route) from wreckers for around $30?

The 5 for the cluster are T5 bulbs, you can buy LED's with resistors already and you just pull your globe out and put them in. The LCD display is Neo wedge T4.

I've heard that the HVAC controls have different sizes, I've got a 2002 VU and it's got 6 Neo wedge T4 for the HVAC, the hazard lights a neo wedge T4 and the fog lights a neo wedge T4.
Like I said though, apparently they vary

yea, ebay kits are plug n play, just make sure you order the right one, as calais / berlina electric climate control uses different bulbs to standard hvac and a couple of extra ones in 3 windowed dash. dont need resistors, ive only seen them used in rear indicator led conversions.
