So, I'm lost Blokes. Are they different to the LS3 dipstick in Holden's or not?

And the one you have linked is the cable type from the SS Forum.

The ad for Ebay mentions the part number. It is currently listed as a LS3 dipstick for Holden. My car has the twisted dipstick which really is a pain in the arse to use.

Yep, good inch and a half shorter at least. Considering the twisted one is also bent and it's still longer, no way will the new one give a correct reading.

You'd have to fill it up (according to the old stick) and see where it comes up to on the new one (if it shows at all). Then use that as the new 'full' indication.

When they change part numbers it is because of an improvement or price increase.
The guys who are getting one will no doubt give feedback when they get the new one.
