And thats only what I emptied from the Pump unit,

FYI: Since your local, just some of the local stations I have purchased fuel from -

7/11 in Black Rock,
United Mentone, (Nepean Highway)
United Highett (Nepean Highway)
United Cheltenham (Warragul Road)
Only time I've ever had dodgy fuel was from United in Sale.
Never bought fuel from United since...

I am think along the same lines now,
The United in Mentone Pumps are out by 10%
I proved that by putting in 20 Litres in the a Red Jerry Can, however, it was not up to the 20L Mark,
So I mentioned it to the Manager, and he said its possible only 10% out,
So he told me to fill it to the 20L mark, so I did,
That then equated to approx another 2.3L by the pump,
When I explaind it to him, he didnt really care, his exact words were
"Its only 10% difference"
That right, 10% more we are paying for, and not receiving in our tanks.

He didnt give a rats.

Pumps are supposed to be tested under weights and measures laws.....should be tagged.

Time to report arsehats like that.

After topping up, you should have offered to pay 10% less $$ for the 20 litres (the original bill) and see whether he thought that was fair :p

As VS 5.0 said, report him to the group that handles weights and measures. In Vic that responsability has probably been moved to the group that handles casinos and brothels (that's sarcasm in case it's not clear) :p:p:p

The more i think about it, the more annoying it is as this prick is stealing 2.3ltr for every 20ltrs the pump says it is dispensing... That equates to the buyer paying for 8 ltr more (according to the pump) just to fill up their VE/VF's 71 ltr tank. That's around $12 stolen per commodore, more or less for other makes. That is a theft that is occuring 24hrs/day, every day of the week at that petrol station  Report them

Small businesses that buy or sell goods by weight, volume or length must also comply with the National Measurement Act 1960 and the National Trade Measurement Regulations 2009.
Businesses that short-measure their customers can be fined up to $170,000 per offence.
Visit the National Measurement Institute website for more information.
Such a fine would hurty and may wiope the smile of such pricks when they loose their job and are tossed on their arse for gaming the system.

From the above link, the place to ring may be... (if not they can redirect you)...

Trade measurement helpline
To find out more about trade measurement laws or report a suspected breach:
And then report him to CAV/ACCC as he's probably not changing his filters which may be the cause of your tank sludge ;)

Need to sell many litres to make that up.

Or have they been fined previously and using their scam to make it up ?

I was thinking of a inline fuel filter as attached image, that can be cleaned as re-used.
(Borrowed the image from ebay as guide/example) ;)

But Position, Position, Position would be the problem,
Taking into account altering the existing fuel lines/pipes.

I've heard bad things about those glass filters and I don't think they are EFI rated either. A proper EFI type filter before the fuel rails can't hurt.

I did,
I only paid for 18 Litres,
As I took a photo of the "So called 20 Litres" which was only 18 Litres

And he wasn't faised by it at all,

So maybe he is aware of the 10% discrepincy ???

Maybe all the Pumps at UNITED PETROL STATIONS are 10% out ???

After cleaning and packing up everything today,
I then noticed the line/level of crap that is possible in the tank on the side of the tank unit,
I think I have a tank of ****
As I hadnt started the car today, so I hoping there wasnt any preasure in the fuel lines before I replaced the Tank Unit.
