You could always use long nose vice grips

might.....the heater hoses I have are the original with yellow dots on the engine connection. 17 years old, servicing the car at the dealer never once they asked if they want to change (they changed the easier radiator hoses).
haha,......
they have one with a lock. Here is a comparison

The problem is, I think, we do not have it in Australia. Have to import and that takes a couple of weeks. They are not cheap either.....

Ah you don't need the rolls Royce pliers to do 2 spring clamps. It's all in the wrist action! ;)

Yeah i got mine for five bucks at a Sunday market in Berwick
lol...agree, but they are not just two spring clamps.
They are 6 if I want to re-use them for the heater hoses. Two at the firewall, and four at the heater valve (tap).....and, as someone suggested, I should change coolant every six months, when I change oil, until the system becomes healthy.

Honestly, I much appreciate your help, guidance and support.
I have never done anything like this in my car. The max was change tyres! oh no, I also changed the bonnet struts! and adjust the tyre pressure every fortnight.
All of my friends would not even look at the engine or contemplate doing anything themselves. My mate is the same (gives the car to the experts 'dealers').
All I have done is some research and you guys here have been helping me a lot. Without you, I wouldn't have gone this far :)
