ecotec plenum cover studs

Hi, wondering if anyone has removed the 4 studs that the plastic engine cover fastens to (VS ECOTEC). I've decided to leave the plastic cover off so thought I'd remove the studs too.

If anyone's done this - how did you do it? I've tried vise-grips on one (that only removed half the stud...)

I heard some where that you knock them down and out..

yeah i have removed them you just smash them out with a hammer. Maybe better to just tap them out tho lol

When servicing a vx I had to remove them, from memory they just unscrew.

Such an old post, but I'm missing one of the screws, 3 washers and a nut. Can anyone please help me out as I desperately want them.
