Manual VS Ute
Hi guys, I recently just put a new clutch kit and some reconditioned heads onto my 96 vs ute, It was running perfect but all of a sudden it's started making a tick/knocking sound when idling. Any help would be appreciated, see video for sound.

Sounds like lifters.

Maybe do an oil change, might have some sheet from the repair restricting passages if it's internal :)

Ok cheers guys will do an oil change on the weekend, hoping it's lifters rather than something more major especially after just doing the heads

Like I said I'd say it's lifters. Oil change is unlikely to free up a sticky lifter. Reasonably common to have a sticky lifter especially on a Eco and even more so if oil isn't changed regularly.

Did you check the lifters when you replaced the heads?

No worries, heads were done by a mechanic mate, will ask him if he checked them, would some of that lifter free fluid do anything or am I better off leaving it?
