engine and transmission weight

rough guess ~350-400kg
You are clearly delusional about the weight of a transmission in these cars the whole car weighs around 1600 KG so you believe the transmission will be a quarter of the weight of the car do you ? Yeah NO the transmissions as I have felt how heavy they are weigh MAX 200 kg if that , probably 150 KG

Doing a quick bit of googling,

L36 V6 178kg dry weight, our ecotec with full alloy intake manifold would add a few extra Kg's
4L60e 60kg dry weight (not sure if this includes a converter?)

So by the time you add engine accessories, converter, fluids and K frame I think you would be north of 300kg without trying.

Can't say, Next time I dig one out of the garage I'll weight it (if I remember). Did it have the converter fitted?

Not sure? But l think not. I also weighed the converter separately. It weighed 11 kilos l think?

Yeah 10 kg easy on the converter with a bit of fluid in it.
