Hey all,
Planning on finally tidying up my VX engine bay for the first time in... ever.
Just wondering if anyone has any great tips on how to do this best and what products/methods are suitable?
Ie. Degreaser, Carby cleaner, soap? lol
Wanted to make sure I get the best results but don't damage anything in the process.

ps. if there is already a write up for this feel free to redirect me...

Cheers!

degreaser concentrate and water in one of those roundup spray bottles
then rinse with a low pressure hose
dry what you can with a rag, then go for a drive, warm the engine up and the rest of the water should evaporate away :)

Is there a limit to what you should as shouldn't degrease? Like fan belt and electrical wires or just go all out? Coz my engine is regrettably pretty dirty..

I agree with Keegz.
My engine bay COULD look worse, but after ten years of 0 attention its pretty bad.
Multiple Write-ups have said just spray the balls outa it with degreaser but surely there are some parts that SHOULDN'T be degreasified so severely?

This is a good vid for engines that aren't too filthy. Worth watching from the 20 min mark: Junkman's Engine Detailing How To Video - YouTube.

For the degreaser I use a product called P21s total auto wash. Its very pricy but works well, very safe, and smells pretty decent. Dress with 303 aerospace.

Don't degrease your belt pulley bearings... they aren't sealed very well.
