Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Except the VH wasn't released until September 1981, so an October 1980 cast block is unlikely to have sat around for 11 months to find it's way into a VH.~ late vc and early vh motors

B scratched in the casting of the heads... with a HSV stamp?Hey Ive done a bit more looking an have come across a B welded on the heads a hsv stamped on them, what does this mean?
Any help would be appreciated
Looks like hsv stamped on top of head nest to brake booster could have more written but without taking of the rocker cover to have really good lookB scratched in the casting of the heads... with a HSV stamp?
hmmm...simply not possible me thinks! the last B cast heads was VK Commodore hipo engines (several .. A9L etc)
but
HSV did not exist then.
HSV started after VL came out and the VL V8 carby heads (used on their first car - SV88) did not have anything scratched in them
(only the part no between rocker cover rails)
