just wondering how accurate the engine oil life reading is in engineering mode?recently got my 10 ssv ute serviced at holden and checked engine oil life in engineering mode it was on 15%,when i got it back it was still on 15% and after a few hundred kms went to 0%,queried holden on this and they said sensor is not accurate and they dont use them anyway..just thought they may not have changed the oil when they said they had thats all..

Have you checked the oil? There is a big difference between fresh oil and 10,000+km oil.

Lol,

Switch you key to ignition without starting the engine.

Quickly press the accelerator 3 times.

Switch off and remove key.

Start engineering mode.

99% oil life!

Engine Oil Life isnt used in Australia. It isnt reset by service centres for this reason.

My car has 21000ks, and it says 0% oil life haha. The oil is only 6000kms old. As the above post mentions, it isn't used here.

It's good to use yourself, when it gets to around 50% time to service your car.

It's good to use yourself, when it gets to around 50% time to service your car.

I use it to manage oil changes in between my services... It usually gets to between 50 and 60% halfway between service intervals, which is when I do the extra oil change.
