Car just threw out a few fault codes. the first code was 64 (LH oxygen sensor). Guessing this means the drivers side sensor???
Next code was 36 ( Vacuum leak) . Where would you go first and in what order or sequence to isolate the fault? Does it just mean the tube that goes from the air intake to the firewall coz that is plugged in at both ends and seems OK..?
last was code 29 (EGR position sensor). Is it even possible to trouble shoot a sensor like this? As it sells for around $250 was hoping for a work around.

The attached from the Holden VT/VX Service Manual may help you:

Many Thanks Black, that was a help. Those troubleshoot check lists are very helpful.
LH oxygen sensor is passengers side.

Watched a buick engine vid on YT and the amercians talk about left and right bank sensors. On an east west mounting it seemed the sensor was on drivers side so thanks for correcting. Have you installed a new sensor? is the special socket with the wire slot the best option or could I get away with use of a shifting spanner?

I just use a shifter. It's not like you need to keep the wires safe if you're chucking it anyway.

Doc & Black, Are the RH and LH sensors exactly the same? That is, same fitment, same length of wire, same plug, same sensory insides? Look up LH oxygen sensor online and it appears their is technically no difference between the two. Bosch sell a two pack and it seems from the photo one sensor is slightly different from the other. Are the LH and RH the same???

Hard to say from the diagrams. I would assume that since they mention them separately there is some difference (length maybe).
