I was trying to open my car with the key by just pressing the unlock button and nothing happened. I tried to walk around the car to see if it made a difference but no change. I just used the key entry in the drivers door, causing the alarm to go off, but am still confused why it didn't work. any ideas?

I read somewhere that going through a magnetic pulse of some sort scrables the code in your key remote, and the way to re program it was put it in the ignition and turn it all the way just before the car starts
and hold down some buttons or something.

Yep, I had the same problem, just after i got the car second hand from the dealer, it was intermittent, took it back, required a whole new inside electronic bit of the key.
