WOOOOOOAH! are your pistons ok??? 16 afr is daaaaaaangerous territory to get into on a power run mate. id certainly taking that up with whoever hack-yokle did the power run. thats prolly one of the worst sheets ive ever seen.

^^^ that's a more extreme version of what I thought. Which was:
"shoot, that A/F-r is looking like it could use some more benzin in there. and what's with the stagger at 4200? what exhaust system is this car running?"

The bloke who did the dyno run came highly recommended, easily the pick of the few blokes who do it in town(based on suggestions from every tom dick and Harry both yokels and half the mechanics in town)

exhaust, a very leaky genie 4/2/1.....4 into 2x2" into 1x3". God knows what is with the stagger, it coincides with the big puff of black smoke during the run :-/

that dyno run should of been aborted right from the moment it started man thats way to lean.the dip at 4400 is right around where the bananas move the most air and it probably just has way to much timing factory tunes have a big dip in timing right there for this very reason.isnt this a stock rebuild or does it have a cam

Hypatec flat tops, 284 cam .471 lift, roller rockers, head and manifold work 70mm throttle body. I did have the timing set at 11btdc but the mechanic readjusted it, don't know what to though.

Delcowizzid, the1 is going to readjust the tune in the memcal for me. He suggested " Defiantly got some spark pulled just after 4000rpm, so put a bit more fuel in 2-3% there and then about 8% across the board. The spark should be ok once the fuel is increased. " does that sound right to you?

8% as a min between 2000 and 3000 will get you started. what youll find from there is it will change the rest of the AFR, so youll need to add fuel then start the run over.

the first few minutes on the dyno will be the tuner sitting in the car watching the arf and timing/knock sensors closely. he should follow this process:

idle in park
idle in drive braked
idle in drive 1000 rpm
idle in drive 2000 rpm
idle in drive 3000 rpm

etc.

then he will do a 1st gear pull, 2nd gear pull etc all the time watching the AFR and knock. the power run should ONLY ever be done once all the other cells have been checked and are ok. the WOT throttle is the very last step. if the tuner noticed lean conditions, knock retard, noises, leaks, smoke then he should STOP and either fix it or give it back for you to fix.

you cant skip from step 1 to WOT.

your next step from here would be to get some means of logging your tune. i think these use an ALDL cable and a laptop. you follow the same steps the tuner would but you do it on the road. the only thing is it wont be legal to do 3rd gear pulls, but if you can log the rest, then email your logs to "the1" and he will sort out the table corrections. THEN you can go back to the dyno and get your WOT sorted out.

p.s. there is no reason this engine can bust at least 165rwkw. even my old carby 308 got 150 with **** heads, a **** carby setup and **** tuner.
