Just wondering how many others have made this purchase their first ever Holden? Been driving 35 years usually get a new car every 2 or 3 years and this is my first.

To be honest came close to getting a VE SSV manual wagon 3 years ago but it just did not do it for me.

Been driving 60 odd years:-

FJ Holden ( Second Hand )
FC Holden ( Second Hand )
FB Holden ( Second Hand )
HQ Premier ( New )
HJ Monaro ( New )
HZ Monaro ( New )
VN S Pack ( New )...Heap of !@#$.
VT S Pack ( New )
VU S Pack Ute ( New )
VY S Pack ( New )
VE SV6 Ute ( New ) 68000kms Still Own.
VF SV6 ( New ) 9000kms Still Own.

Cheers.

You must be very old if you tells it like it is.

If you are referring to me - very old is a relative thing. Compared to just under half the population I'm considered young and haven't even made half my expected age. How old must I be?

First "proper Holden"
Had a TF Rodeo but that's really an Isuzu...

Came from mostly Jap imports & never had any interest in Commodores apart from the fact they had a big engine & sounded nice!
Then the VF was different enough to grab my attention.

Previous (& some are still owned) cars include

Nissan Exa Turbo
KE70 Corolla
Series 2 RX7 Turbo
R32 Nissan Skyline "GTS25T"
R32.4 Nissan Skyline GTR
BMW E34 540i
TF Rodeo

Happy with the VF so far although I still love the feeling of boost...

Only did the math quick in my head but a 40year old would average 3 cars or so a year to go through 70. Seems a lot of cars unless you were like John Laws but he is very old.

Yep me. My VF Storm SV6 is my first ever (and obviously last) Commodore.

I honestly would not have considered it if it had not improved so drastically from the VE.

Everyone I told that I got a Commodore all asked me "WHYYYY?!?!?"

And once they've seen it in the flesh, they understand.

My wife likes it. Even my 6yo says "Daddy it's soooo smooooooth".

PS I was coming from a Golf R which no one in the family except for me liked.

Well I'm not 70 and anybody who has known me personally since my teens would verify my claim but I'm sure your conclusion based on never having met me or even spoken to me in the past would have more validity in your mind ;)

This is my second true Holden, third if you count the heap of crap Vectra I owned.

Previous rides:

1982 Mitsubishi Starion (This car was possessed by the devil. The first day I bought it, it broke down in Maccas drive-through. It eventually caught on fire and had to be put out by the fire brigade. Even before this event it was named Luci, short for Lucifer)
1989 VN V8 Executive Commodore (This was a weapon, but dangerous in the wet)
1990 Nissan Z32 300zx (Short Wheel Based version. A great car that had very few issues.)
2003 Holden Vectra CDXi (Biggest piece of junk I have owned. It had a fault with just about every component that was electrical. Then after 50k Kms the gearbox failed.)
2008 Mitsubishi Evo X (Best car I have owned to date. Only issue was that you would only get between 15-20k kms out of the clutches)
2013 VF Redline ute (Great car but the steering rack has already gone on it)
