I fail to see what my own car has to do with anything.

And I wasn't comparing it to anything.

I'm just saying, if this is like the E2 HSV's it'll be what? around 80k or so.

You can pick up a decent BMW or Merc for the same price that's a much better quality.

Your pricing is way off

I don't really care how it does it, so long as it does.
Quad cams seem to be the way to go. As far as economy goes, it just allows more to be manipulated to acheive the economy. Why not have a 7ltr DOHC GM engine? If the 5.0ltr engine puts out 300kw, the 7.0ltr should smash it. :D

Couldn't care less about engine size so long as it puts out the killowatts then it doesn't matter, keep thing diverse and the market broad.

What I would prefer to see is holden building their own V8.

Yeah but what sort of revs were they pulling to make that power? I'll bet it was in excess of 10 grand easily. Sure you can make more power from a smaller engine, but more often than not that involves getting those revs up, and high revs = more wear = less longevity.
Call me old fashioned but I still believe there is no replacement for displacement.

Yes, They need a rebuild after every race lol and the F1s need to be on life support before you can drive them lol

Maybe HSV might open the power on the LS3 to something it should have been from day one.
It's got plenty more torque and power, hsv have strangled it why?, because ford had nothing to match it, now lets see what they do. Rumours were ls3 was good for 330kw 570nm base.

And for holden i see the vortec 6200 L92 as a perfect fit for the commodore. Variable valve timing, and E85 capable and AFM. Plus i'm sure this motor is capable of direct injection, so it would be a mighty engine for holden.

Something around 290-300kw 550-565nm.
