Mechanic has quoted me 1000 dollars to service the trans and changed left front wheel bearing
I'm not convinced but what choice do I have?

Trans service round the $250 mark

Wheel bearing around the $250 supply and fit.

Roughish figures but defiantely closer than the $1000 quoted
