Gas V's Airbox

Anyone blown up their airbox on gas before. I have twice, now i'm trialing a relief valve setup. Springs hold a piece of sheet metal in place over a hole cut in the air box. The hole is sealed with some insertion rubber. I've put in new spark plugs and gapped the to 0.9 and tested the leads now so hopefully the valve wont have to be used. Tell me what you think. Also any info on what airflow metres on VR V8's look like would be appreciated. I'm not sure if mine is actually there. Cheers Dave :)

If anyone else is thinking of trying this I advise to put locknuts on like the last picture. No-one want's a loose nut or bolt in their intake

I've massacred many an air box. Although new spark plugs every 5-10k km's has stopped it altogether.

Nope, just put NGK ones straight in.

Edit: And changed to Bosch Sports leads.

I read somewhere that when on gas the v8 gap should be 0.9mm, (normally 1.0mm) and the v6 should be 1.4mm (normally 1.5mm) Spark plugs should last at least 40k. Must get expensive changing them all the time. Try gapping the next change, It can't hurt.
