Sometimes I don't know what day it is, but it is definitely not 01 April.
Click bait, same as all the other promises that GM made back then, like something about 22 new models in 2020, or was it 20 new models by 2022, a promise from a bloke who used to screw together VWs.

"General Motors is set to expand its global market with Australia as a "cornerstone" of its expansion."

If Australia is going to be a cornerstone, their wonky pyramid is going to fall over very quickly.
I would prefer to buy a Great Wally EV from China, than anything with a GM badge on it.

A 'PS" thought ... start the rumour, Holden to be re-introduced as a Chinese designed EV to be built in a new factory in the Solomon Islands.

So GM just decided two years ago to completely abandon the global market and deal exclusively in North America, now they turn around and announce their triumphant return? What a crock of shite!

GM is a fair weather friend who has only ever been in overseas markets to A) gouge the taxpayers of various governments around the world and B) supply the crappiest product they can get away with and wonder why they don’t have any brand loyalty.

There's a slim chance that GM will make a huge amount of money from us... They shut down literally all of the Holden dealerships when they could've used these dealerships to sell these new vehicles...

There is nothing in their line-up that is of interest to me. Also GM "quality" doesn't hold much credibility anymore. I would rather buy a French car (and that's saying something) than any GM product these days. Good luck GM, your biggest challenge is convincing Aussies you have any integrity first.

Some pretty heavy stuff in those videos, but not really surprising or unknown.

They should put to bed the old conspiracy theory that Tony Abbott and Joe Hocket 'killed' Holden.
They just called GMs bluff, because they were tired of the Australian tax payers money being drained by a foreign company that was going to abandon Holden in 2022 anyway.
Gee, that is about now !
I can see the headlines ........... Holden to cease production of V8 and V6 ZB Commodores at Elizabeth plant with effect 01 Aug '22.
Shock, horror !. Who predicted that ? John Cadogan in about 2010, for one, and he was not taken seriously.
(Forget that Oz taxpayers are still supporting other short sighted political ventures and WOFTAMs.)

As for GM Korea ............ Holden bought half stakes in Daewoo, Mike Simcoe was appointed head honcho, and when GM went arse-up, that Holden money sorta disappeared, to know not where, when the plant was closed.

GM has not been in the job of producing motor vehicles for profit since about 2000.
It has been about producing money from share prices and subsidies from gullible countries like Australia, Korea, Britain and Germany.
If their production and research decisions are now coming back to bite them on the bum, stiff cheese.
Zero f***s given by previous Holden customers as to their future plans in The Land Down Under.

Have a news Google search about the GM USA pension funds for GM workers that have been downgraded / stolen / re-allocated / denied, versus the dividends / bonuses being paid to the current executives for a 'job well done'.

Bullshit artists, thieves, liars, and fraudsters.
