A little thing i have been working on for a while now. It's a 2.48 meter Zodiac Fast roller, it's the sports model with the inflatable keel and 2 piece floor. It's the smallest inflatable boat designed to plane.

Factory rated to 8 hp, i will be using a modified 30 hp Tohatsu.

Repair and service wise i have:
- Replaced the top and bottom swivel tubes bushes, thrust plates, and fitted new o-rings.
- Fitted new transom brackets.
- Fitted new tilt tube, and new tube bushings.
- Replaced impellor, top and bottom gaskets, fitted new stainless screws.
- Replaced bearing carrier oil seal.
- Fitted new pan seal, new pan bolts, rubbers, and spacers. Completely
sealed pan section of with sikaflex.
- Replaced power head base gasket
- Remaining power head gaskets are here but not ready to be fitted yet.

Modification wise i have :
- Fitted solid alloy mounts top and bottom.
- Added 4 x 0.75 Inch holes above cav plate for exhaust releif.
- Removed tilt mechanism and shallow drive unit to shed unnesacary weight.
- Fitted PowerTech SRA 10 in 10 P propellor.

Future plans :
- Remove starter ring gear and lighten flywheel
- Fit Boyosen reeds.
- Experiment with different length velocity stacks

Trial fitting motor to transom. i don't have a shed or anything incase anyone is wondering why the boat is in my lounge room.





Motor when i first got it - Again from Ebay, i should have bought something locally as this motor didn't exactly meet the description.

Chunk out of the skeg caused by the previous owner.

Rather that fitting a skeg cover, i chose to just grind it back. This will miniminse drag in the water at high trim angles anyway.

2 coats of zinc primer

3 coats of rust guard black

3 hours of hammering and some pissed off neigbours later the power head finally released itself.

The old rubber mounts were absolutely shot, so they were removed, and replacement solid mounts were ordered.

Leg primed - same process as before

Solid alloy mounts now fitted fitted

New swivel tube bushes also as i cracked the old ones removing the old tilt tube

New brackets and tilt tube. The old brackets were ok, but i managed to get a good deal on a new set, which also saved me time painting.

Finished the lower unit service, i've also drilled 4 x 0.75'' holes above the cav plate to vent the exhaust above the water line.

A this point in time i had to stop working and start tidying up. Living in a 2 bdr apartment means i have limited space to work in, so things begin to pile up very quickly.
