Got a new HSV Steering wheel for ym VE SS

I just bought one for my Calais and rang the local dealer hear in Sydney to inquire about fitting. I was quoted $60 which sounds like good value. I have heard of other dealers charging anywhere between $40 and $120, so ring around.

Ah that's alright! What it just a local Holden dealer?

Ok, so I've called about 8 different dealers in Perth, all of them have quoted from $130 - $240 to change the steering wheel!

Anyone in Perth got any contacts that can get it done?

I know people who've disconnected the battery and taken out the fuse have had it still go off.

How is that even possible?

i believe some have a capacitor

If the prices mentioned are correct ide just pay the dealer to do it...
If they stuff the airbag then they replace

My current 1 is in prety good condition apart from a few small wear marks on top.
Cant stand looking at it while i drive..

I would do it myself, no worries, but people are saying they've had the airbag go off before, if that happens, I'm in the **** big time, so I'd rather not risk it unless there is a way to 100% disable it.

Ive done it several times, just disconnect the battery... no need to pull the fuse if the battery is disconnected...
Its very easy, like 10min job...

I had a dealer change my standard ve ss for the gts wheel a few months ago for $80. I thought it would have been less but after reading some of the posts here sounds like I got a bargain.
