Happy 50th Birthday for the HQ GTS 308 Monaro. I bought my Daughter out of Nepean Hospital when she was 3 days old and now she is 30 years young. . The HQ GTS 308 Manual, Electric Windows, Dual Exhaust is 50 years old today and I still have Deposit slip that I paid back in 13/11/1971 for $50 to be delivered back in 17th of December 1971.

The GTS 253 Monaro was a Famous Car back the 1974 to 6 as the 253 use to run 13.80 Second Quarter Mile. It use to eat Phase 3 Falcons and 350 Monaros, some were modded.. I made the Lot of them EAT there Words. Late in the 1978 I fitted a 308 short Motor that was a short block (commercial Block) that come from a Bus Company.

Use to eat BP 100

Back in the OLD day in Sydney the illegal Drag Strips were at Homebush BRICKIES!!!! End of Homebush Road, Parramatta Road there was a BP Service Station that sold on the Bouser BP 100 YEAH!!!!!!

Yes still have the Race Engine in it till today. I start it and you can hear it 100 mtrs away. So far the only thing that has stuffed up id the Edelbrock Manifold as I spring a water leak 5 years ago. Now I able to buy a new one , it was 100% identical. Yes The new was was not ported and machined out like the first Edelbrock.

Today Job is to fit new NGK Spark plug. I have used stock BOSCH spark plugs for 30 years (AC Delco before) but now I going to use a hotter NGK Spark Plug the BP5FS. Yes the NGK BP6FS is the standard plug used on the 308.
