After 53,000km trouble free motoring I hop in my car, turn it on and it sounds like a diesel.

It does appear that the Harmonic Balancer has collapsed on my 2016 VF2 Redline.

What's a better alternative to OEM? Dayco?

Thx in n advance.

Edit: Video link update,

Hmmm,

HB1117N - Dayco POWERBOND OEM Replacement (Cast Iron)

or

PB1117SS - Dayco PowerBond Race Performance Harmonic Balancer

I think I will go the latter.

Pros: a bit freer revving, unleash a little bit more power
cons: if you do a lot of short trips perhaps your alternator won’t charge the battery properly but couldn’t really see it being an issue

Don't do it. Drawbacks outweigh negligible benefits...

Probably drive the BCM nuts trying to get the(slower revolving) alternator to output the normal after start voltage.
