Hi everyone, I’m new here and have been looking at buying a commodore wagon for a little while now. Mostly vz’s have been in my price range and haven’t really seen vy’s for sale much, in my area at least.
Just recently two vz Berlina’s have come up for sale. I’m trying to weigh up between them and was looking for somebody’s opinion who may know a lot more than what I do haha.
The difference is basically one is an 05 and has 170k’s on it compared to an 04 with 120k’s.
I think timing chains can be an expensive issue with these cars from what I’ve read. The one with 170 kilometres has had its timing chain already replaced and was very quiet compared to a rattle or two I heard from the 120kms one.
I just thought that maybe the peace of mind with the more kilometres is more worth it than worrying about replacing a timing chain for potentially $1000 maybe?
Thanks any reply is helpful and appreciated.
