[Help] Power Steering what the?

hey guys my mate has a problem with his VR

the steering has become a lot heavier and the power steer unit makes some noise even when the car is on idle and gets a lot louder when you turn the wheel also the steering will not return

example if you come around a right corner and let go of the wheel slightly it will not return to the center you have to bring it back by hand

the oil is still full with no leaks what could it be.

Yeh could be the rack or the pump. Im leaning towards the pump because thats what happened to me when mine went however it would be a good idea to find out for sure before you go buying new parts

If he knows what hes doing its not that hard to change. There might be instructions in the how to sectioin

If the steering has gotten extremely hard then its a pump problem.
