Boost is not the problem for the main reasons, current cam, increased engine capacity, lower comp and M90. Given the constraints and budget, intercooling is probably not the best next step IMHO

O.k so what would you recommend better cam and a re-tune? could also squeeze a water/meth kit in on budget?

do you have all the specs of that cam opening and closing degrees at 0.050" looks like a good S/C cam but need the figures to sim it

Delco's on the money as the cam could be utilised still but I really think that whichever way you go a cooler is a no brainer at this stage

I'm yet to read anything here from anyone that says W2A intercooling is restrictive.

You might be able to spin M90's to crazy speeds but all it's going to do is blow more and more hot air.

This is the same for most chargers. More boost = more heat there for you need a cooler.

cam sims up pretty good going off all the figures if you dont want to rev it past 6000rpm its perfect power starts to taper off at round 5800 good wide torque curve -5.8 ish degrees overlap at 0.050 so theres no overlap just the opposite and the way it sims up you would probably gain by retarding it 2-4 degrees low rpm torque is still good at 2 degrees retarded 4 degrees does move it over a bit more but power goes up and torque goes up and for more rpm.
since you want to keep the charger ide go an air to air plate and front mount cooler and get it tuned with map not MAF .but before that if it is withen your skills ide get an adjustable cam chain set and try it 2 degrees retarded and see if it feels better if it does you could try 4 degrees only cost you time no money if you can do it yourself or even just verify its setup matching the camcard spec with a dial gauge and degree wheel save you doing it later and tweaking the tune .

Cam retarding is no problem, will the tune be ok with 4 degs retard though?

depends how it responds to it if it gains heaps ide get it tuned after a cooler install
