**help!!-th350 to vh-help!!**

Hi all,

I have a brand spanker 304/TH350 combination in my VH SLE. I bought the TH350 crossmember mount believing that it, and the original trimatic crossmember, would bolt straight up. NOOOOoo.

I've double checked with the supplier and the mount is correct. So, do I need a specific TH350 tranny crossmember? And If so why the *&%@ can't I find one advertised or mentioned anywhere!!

Talk about frustrating, Please HELP!! :bang::bang::bang:

Ive heard that, but the Commodore has 3 sets of holes for three different trans (t350, Tri and T400) so I assumed would use same crossmember. The Crossmember fits, but neither the triatic or aftermarket t350 mount will fit...

The turbo mount is too big and wont allow the crossmember to sit on the rails and the trimatic mount is too small, ie gap between the box and crossmember

Hi all,

I got a sugggestion on a different forum which was: find a bit of flat plate drill mounting holes and use the original trimatic mount.

I could only find a piece 10mm thick, but used it anyway with the final piece being about 80mm x 740mm x 10mm. It fits perfect!!

I don't know what the rego boys will say but it s gotta be at least as strong as the original, and with all new bolts I reckon its all good.

I've posted this so noone else has to go through the searching and phone calls I had to, it's amaxzing that with such a common swap people don't have a clue!

Cheers to all who offered advice, I hope I can return the favour one day. :thumbsup:

i did this exact swap a few years ago, from memory i got a crossmember and bellhousing adaptor off castlemaine rod shop
