I have a 94 holden vr wagon with a series 2 V6, I have a idling problem, My car is idling at 1500Rpm And normally idles at 1000 Due to i have a stage 3 cam. when i rev the car past 4000 revs it will go back to normal 1000 Rpm and then when i drive it and stop at a traffic light it will go back to 1500 Rpm until i rev it to 4000 rpm +I have cleaned the throttle body, and cant seem to find what the problem is. i had the car idling perfect at 1000rpm in my garage (i thought i fixed it) but then as i said when i drove it and stopped at a traffic light it just started playing up again.

I would appreciate all feedback as i really want to fix this problem.

Check the throttle cable is not sticky or has sharp bends....also check cruise cable if fitted.

The Cable is brand new, It doesn't have any sharp bends, What you mean by "sticky"

warm the car up. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, press the brake pedal too a few times. Reconnect the battery and start the car and (when it has oil pressure) rev it to 2k and hold it for 20seconds.

This resets the idle.

check for fault codes, then we can go from there.. and it might help pin point the problem
