So you didn't have tapered nuts? When was the last time you personally took the wheels off? I'd almost wager that you've done em up too tight, I only say that because I have friends who have done that and a lot of studs snapped in that way.

I like the idea of the Mondeo wheel nuts though.

The middle one looks like it's meant for steel not alloy wheels.
Standard vt/vz factory wheel nuts for alloy wheels will do the trick all day.
