Try it before building

If you are unsure, just try doing what I did to test the therory on your car. Remove the bottom air box (3 star screws) and band the air filter to the 'head' of the air box. Take it for a spin.

If you have a Berlina or Calais, you will notice a reduction with the instant fuel reading while cruising.

yea but you still have the problem of hot air, It would be good of you could extend the intake pipe all the way to the front of the car and have the top of the air box facing forward with the filter in it like an intercooler infront of the radiator.
Now theres some food for thought

i dont think there are any actual figures involved, its just feel.
in a manual you'll notice it will climb a hill in a certain gear for longer with out having to change down and little things like that.
It just means the engine doesn't have to rely wholey on the vacuume to suck the air in.
If a whole thread is devoted to the positive effects of it, dont ask how much power it makes, just do it knowing from reviews that it does give a small % of ecconomy and power and see for your self as each engine differs
