Hi guys, did a search but came up with nothing so here I am.

I have two air horns fitted to my VX commodore, with the factory horn still active (not on a switch, they go off together).

Here's the quick story:
Yesterday almost got collected by a moron in a Honda Civic so I unloaded my horn for a good 10-15 seconds til it just died.

Neither the air horns or factory horn are working so I thought it was the fuse, as the factory horn should still work if the air compressor shat itself.

Checked fuses this morning and they are all fine.
Checked all the hoses and they are still attached, and all wires are still attached to air compressor.

Last thing I can think of would be that the horn pad on the steering wheel has somehow shat itself... Has anyone heard of/experienced that before?

Looking for ideas guys as I won't be able to see my mechanic til next weekend.
Feeling very naked without my horn, not to mention unsafe and unroadworthy!

Should be a relay switch in with the fuses, either under the steering wheel or in the fuse box in the engine bay. They are a small square black box about 30 mm square. There's quite a few of them, one for headlights, one for wipers/washers, one for this and that, and one for the horn. They feed the higher powered electronic devices with constant power going to the relay but they are able to provide a higher wattage when a device such as a horn or wipers, etc are switched on.
Find the one that is for the horn then replace it with one that is the same, like your headlight one or such. Try the horn and if it works you'll know to buy another relay switch. They just unplug by pulling them straight out.
It could also be a wire come off the horn too so I'd be checking that out as well.

What was it?

Wasn't the relay for me. Have checked everything short of taking the steering wheel off.
Seeing my mechanic on Saturday morning so I'll let you all know what we find for those interested.
