If you wanted to make a car with great economy you would build the engine so it makes peak torque at 1900 rpm, much like the new small turbo diesels thats why they are so great. More compression is an engine mod that will allways help and right through the rev range
Just like the dedicated LPG Falcon aimed at the taxi market?
On highway driving drafting trucks can make a difference - you don't have to be right up close either, although that is better but less safe. You can hear the wind noise get quieter when you are inside the draft. Trucks with squared off backs are better than something like a car carrier.
