how does the ecotec engine idle?

Ive got an eco tech it’s been running pretty rough last couple days like there’s no back pressure I’ve changed all coils parks and leads and has abit of back pressure now but sounds like it’s got a cam on idle and still pretty weak on acceleration anyone know what it could be ?

Check the plugs.
Also did you change the dfi as well?

The ecotec idle is controlled via the idle control valve which bypasses air around the main butterfly. Having said that, even with the IAC completely closed the engine should still idle, albeit a couple hundred rpm lower than the recommended idle for these engines.

Just wondering how the op can tell that the back pressure has improved...maybe the cat is clagged up.

Just on a side note, any gas specialist will not touch your system if it's older than 10 years. If they get caught then there's huge ramifications for them.
