one reason I ran with 48 Webers.. was the tuning, set and forget!

done by a bloke called Tatey (him of HDT fame) he said if I touch it
he would break my fingers

I never did .. and it ran 12s every time
The old wind instruments where an art wish I'd payed more attention to what grandad was listening to when he used to tune carbs, will never forget the look of satisfaction on grandad's face when I return from a test hit grinning from ear to ear and him saying "see boy thats how you make a 202 alive give it the right air and she will sing"

shave the headders, add spacers, cam shaft, turbo OR a supercharger and valve springs with a decent 2.5" exhaust maybe even a 3"

Mine had common 45mm webbers...they rarely went out of tune after refurbished all linkages etc.

Did have to do roller rockers every 3 or so months which I hated 'cos aftermarket rocker cover usually leaked & stock rocker cover didn't clear...also changed or cleaned plugs as they'd eventually foul due to me trying to drive it like a normal car & not giving it occasional full throttle hit.

Other than that she was pretty good to drive when nothing broke lol.

Smashed that many banjo diffs neighbours would show the towies to my driveway or knew plod were in street to have a word to me.

I had no troubles with my 45 Webber on my Capri. On my old 202 Torrie I had a 350 Holley. Now that gave me all the issues in the world. Had to go back to a strommy. Pulled a lot harder with the Strommy than the old Holley that was only good for some serious induction noise.

would be cheaper to put an LS1 auto and decent diff in it to get into 12's

or use this calculator to see how much horsies you need out of it compared to the weight etc.

Not sure how much I trust that calculator.
I feel it's more for dedicated drag vehicle's rather than street cars having a go for the day.

it works well.. as long as you can see passed it (BIG hole in bonnet too) :)
plus these are well known for breaking the snout off the front of the crank unfortunately
That would be a lot of cantilevered load on the poor crank snout.
