well moreso i want to tell a tale of my day as i havent fully read what youve written as im on the phone.

today. i am overtaking someone (well 3 people)
person hoons up behind doing well over 100.
they get that close i cannot see any of tgeir bonnet.
yes you do get out of the way, bit only when safe to (im not going to go 1m infront of car im overtaking then move back over, instead i give some room)
eventually move out of this persons way.

they hoon up to the car infront. do the same thing.
but instead of waiting 5 secs for this guy to get out of the way this person decides to drive off road into the sirt to overtake.
basically if people are that impatient then bad luck.
just wait til they go past and move over
e about getting out of the path of a faster driver.
but only when it is safe to do so.

really just wanted to say a story from yesterday that actually occured and how idiotic some people will go to pass via tailgating and so forth.

Do the speed limit.
Move to the left lane.

Just a note on this point, it's not against the law to travel under the speed limit in the RH lane, only if you are there and not overtaking (talking about the sppeds at which this rule applies).

If the limit is 100 and they are doing 95 overtaking a car doing 90, they are permitted to do that. I think the only time going too slow is against the road rules is on a designated Freeway, then it's 20km/h under the limit.

Just to point out, the law actually states that doing 1/4 of the speed limit is too slow, so, it would be 25k's or lower in a 100 zone. When i first saw it, i assumed it meant '1/4 under the speed limit', so, 75k's in a 100 zone, but thats not the case.
