Figured there would be one. Enjoy :)

Not all GM cars have one. The Acadia and Equinox does not have the disable auto off button but there is a trick to fool the car to never turn off.

Interesting, I figured every car with it would have an option to disable for the journey.

Is the trick to rev the nuts off it at the lights? :p

No lol. The two vehicles I mention, place the auto in low then use the + to add the gears all the way until (9) and it will use all 9 gears if it is a 9 speed auto but it wont switch off at the lights.

Seems complicated, so you're using low range, but all the gears?
With the reaction times most people seem to have at red lights, I'm surprised anybody bothers to turn the functionality off... I'm enjoying driving at the moment as it consists of evening trips to the shops, and weekend blasts out to the countryside! Dreading the commute beginning again

Its not really low range. I just allows you to use the gears up to a range you select. Auto works as normal.

The other way is not to hold your foot all the way down on the brake pedal.

There are a few different conditions that will prevent it...

• You take your foot off the brake pedal

• The minimum vehicle speed between Auto Stop events has not been reached

• The engine or transmission has not warmed up enough

• The outside air temperature is not in the required operating range

• The vehicle’s air conditioning or heat settings require the engine running to cool/heat the cabin

• The transmission is shifted out of DRIVE (Exception: Some vehicles will allow an Auto Stop to continue when shifted into PARK)

• The vehicle’s battery charge is low

• The vehicle’s battery has recently been disconnected

• The Auto Stop has lasted longer than the maximum allowed time

• The vehicle’s hood is open

• You press the accelerator pedal

• Certain Driver Modes may block Stop/Start to maintain the right performance for the mode (Example: Tow/Haul, Crawl, Track modes, if your vehicle has those modes)

• You disable the feature (if your vehicle has a Stop/Start disable switch)

• The vehicle is on a steep hill or slope

• The driver door has been opened or driver seat belt has been unbuckled

• Other reasons
