The new Canister , Fuel Cap and connector removal tool arrived today.
The removal of the canister doesn't seem to be a job anyone has every done.
I'll keep you updated after the removal in installation process.

No not those handy clamps, have used the single ear clamps on all things fuel and oil hoses over the years.

Had a go tonight at removing the old canister and what a prick of a job.
While the canister was up in place I couldn't disconnect the connectors because from what I see they must be a one time fitting connector and to make the removal even worse theres next to no room to access the connectors.
Looks like I'll have to see Holden for new lines, that's if there available and if not then other than replacing with good used lines I'll buy new connectors and fuel line and make my own.

The fittings look very much like the fittings on the purge valve on my VZ.
Obviously meant to stay on.

Stay on alright  once I got the canister out I was able to pry the connectors off but not without splitting them.
I'd been researching the connectors and yep other Holden models use the same connectors.
I'll see if Holden has both lines first and if not then I'll go buy fuel line and 3 new fittings.
The fittings are available because a couple of years ago I went to renew the fuel filter and the insides of the connector broke away and Repco had a large selection of different connectors.
Update: This time Autopro and Repco didn't have the connectors so on Friday afternoon its off to the wreckers I go. I'm thinking if I remove the canister and lines all connected together I'll then have a better chance of removing the connectors. Dremel off each one of the fittings while connected to the couplings and then approach the unclipping process by soaking each coupling in very hot water to soften them up first.

Update - all good, took the canister with the lines connected from a VX at the wreckers. Dropped the tank to access the coupling at the pump and to speed up the process I cut the couplings off using a Junior Hacksaw. Also cut the couplings of the canister side to make disconnecting the couplers really easy. Once the couplers were cut off I then boiled water on the stove and softened the plastic to avoid the chance of any splitting.

Does anyone know how these couplings disconnect.
Remove the quick connect fittings to the vapour canister, return
line and fuel filter, using the following method:
Push inwards to release the seal pressure, depress the side tangs of
the connector, then pull to disconnect.
