The 427 should have stayed but I guess from a business point of view it just wasn't viable with escalating costs and all.

Now all of a sudden the blue oval crap badge has a car called the 427, geez they sure can't think for themselves can they.

I do recall reading that some or all of the researched technology used in the HRT 427 was going to flow down into the family sedan which is great. I could just imagine it, people only being able to buy an 8 capable of 300kW standard. That's the way things are heading that's for sure.

Old thread I know, but still fun. The power's getting there but I'm not sure about that prediction anymore, with fuel prices the way they are and stuff

yea i rekon they should have kept it goin but in the new Street Machine Commodores mag it said it cost them more than $215000 to build the car, and a guy bought the show car off HSV. Don't know if anyone seen it in the mag

Yeah i saw that the other day....lucky lucky man...Woulda cost him a fair bit tho i would think...

The 427 is not dead.

In the Staes the latest Corvette has came out with the LS7, being a 427.

It develops 505hp, equivalent to 377kW.

Before you know it, HSV's will be comming out with these.
