the one above the filter looks like a silver cylinder is the sender for the gauge

Ok so confused now... also a side note, this sender unit next to the oil filter has only one wire, in a werid connector I have never seen before, it pops on and off like a cap. But is loose asf.

It does look like a cylinder yes, and a sender for the gauge... as in this is where the gauge gets its data? So this is likely the problem area?

it should slide straight on to the connector its like a mushroom head, dont pop it off outwardly it will destroy the clip, sender should be on like a billet fitting above the filter, yes that single sender wire put it to earth and the gauge should read zero if it does then sender may be faulty, or if it was just loose as then clip it on properly and power up the gauge if it reads zero then with key on might just have been poor connection

Wow never noticed sender unit down there on hsv cars before it's usually replaced dud oil pressure switch or knock sensor will stuff up on an ls.

Not sure how one can get to that area doing cam/lifter job unless got gorilla hands changing oil filter or hit it with pressure washer.

For some reason I've always thought could get oil pressure readings through ob11 with scanner or app
