Shorten the extra threads extending past the nuts from all the bolts in the car. (I once knew someone who's task it was to do that on a racing car. Better him than me.)

my mate did that on his race car. now granted, a road going car has a lot more bolts than a race car, but anyway.

2 and a bit weeks later he had cut down all the excess threads and drilled the centers out of the bolts. after sweeping ALL the leftover threads and metal filings into a container he weighed them in at a WHOPPING 7 kgs :)

sooo much effort.

Does the gxp commodore ute come with a spare tyre?

Weight reduction is really kind of pointless, the fuel you'll save is probably around the same amount (but probably less) the price fluctuates through the cycle and the extra speed you would get wouldn't be noticable.

Do you notice your car going faster or slower with an empty/fuel tank? I highly doubt it.
At best you would save around $1 in fuel out of a fuel tank and if your lucky, take 0.1 second off your et.
Not worth it for a daily.

Leave car at home and walk. Ultimate fuel saving.

Sorry to be a **** and without knowing the law for all states. In Victoria if you have a spare tyre then it must be roadworthy. No spare... no problemo!

I often take cars through a roadworthy without a spare tyre.

Doesn't make sense (although I take advantage of the loop hole) but thats how it is in Victoria. I can not vouch for any other states.

Furthermore, I've found an awesome weight reduction mod in Commodores. It's the big loose nut behind the steering wheel. Can only be seen from within the vehicle.

Going through all that very useful weight reduction for what? 1-3 KW un-noticable gain.
Do what most P-platers do, exhaust, extractors and 15" stockies. You'll notice, or atleast "feel" a difference with them.

Why dont you stop driving the car, that will make it lighter. Roads will be safer too.

There, everyone wins

Going to have to explain to me how weight reduction results in 1-3 ow gain.

While this thread has some attention, what would an extra 50kg do to an et in a ve ss?
