I want to buy this in car DVD COMBO from Ebay and I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with ebay, good and bad I'm looking for any word on these things.
I don't trust the ebay points system, I just don't.

Hey 91VNEXEC,

Personally I would not buy it, here's why:

It ships internationally, this means that:
A) You pay $75 shipping
B) It states that it has a 12 month manufacturer warranty, this likely means that should there be a problem the seller will direct you to contact the vendor directly, & if you have to return it (even for DOA) you will be looking at about $70 postage.
C) Again, it being international, I highly doubt it would have the C tick (or comply with the regulation.)

Also, are you able to install it yourself? If not you will have to factor in those costs, add to the fact that an installer may not install something without a C tick.

I do use eBay for some things... But only for items found in Austrlaia.

Thats my 2 cents!

I'm willing to cop $75 shipping.
B) sounds like a bitch.
I heard about that C-tick stuff, doesn't really bother me.
Yeah I can install it, if I can rewire the whole speaker system for clarity then I think I can hook up a dvd player.

Thanks for the opinion.

Fair call, but have you looked around at local retailers like Strathfield, Tonkins, Autobarn (or whatever they have in Melb.)

But I must admit I doubt the sun visor systems would be cheap here in Aus.

Yeah i've looked at a few around my area, couldn't find sunvisor ones. But today I did the measurements and it would take a lot of ****ing around to get it in, so now I'm going for double din in dash dvd player and screen.
At the local shops I couldn't find a dvd player for under 500 or a screen for under 400, and these cheap brands sounded just as bad as these cheap asian brands.
I found another one that is here in aus that looks good... OZ AUCTIONS
Tell us whatcha think.

At least the OZ Auctions one is located in Australia (dispite the fact they they would just be importing from another country anyway.)

All in all I wouldent do it

A: Im not to keen on buying expensive electrics off an auction site - I would rather go into a retailer with a shop front.

B: Although an in car DVD sounds nice, I would probably use it for a few weeks & then the novelty would wear off & not get used again for 6 months.

C: There is a reason that these things are under $500 & not the usual $1300, in the end it all boils down to quality.

Yeah i'm not too keen either, I've never bought anything off the internet.

I reckon I'd use it all the time, I have tons and tons of music dvds and some nice loud speakers in the car, I can't wait to rock down the street with some porn in the dvd player, some bitch moaning very very loudly for everyone to hear, that'd be funny as.

Yeah you're right about price... But I keep thinking to myself I went to strathfield and bought a $190 no-name-brand cd player for the car and I've been pumping it for almost 2 years and its still good, so I suppose sometimes you can get lucky with the shithouse brands.
