I have installed a set of extractors in my VE SS L98 although I haven't tuned it yet (because its a bloody rip off), I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and found either power gains or loses due to the computer freaking out and sending in more fuel and retarding ignition from what I heard.

The extractors I have installed are "VCM" and they're shorties so I haven't had to delete an engine light but I know 4 to 1's need a engine light delete because of the change of sensor location.
I also have an OTR.

some dyno result would be great!

Thanks

Sure you can clear the code if it does throw a light but it will return.

You need a tune or someone with tuning software to help you out.

Are you running standard cats?

With high flow cats fitted, you'll probably get a CEL after a few days of driving.

Shouldn't effect performance, just alerting you to the fact that the rear O2 sensors are sensing low catalyst efficiency, due to less temperature drop through the cats(due to the higher flowing cats).

I had an engine light today after almost two months of driving it! Lol
I had it deleted, I'll see how I go now.

you can get 'cheater tubes' for the rear 02s, Sureflo Exhaust sell them.

I was under the impression that those shorty headers don't really give any power gain, it's well worth the $ to get it tuned though, the difference is quite noticeable.

Yeah though the computer delete is easy, I had a mate do it for me.

Shorties will be less restricitive than stock so their will be definit power gains, shorties will provide more low down torque and power and extractors such as 4 to 1's will give higher rev range torque and power.
I have heard 4 to 1's can achieve better peak power.

FOUND MY OWN ANSWER!!!

So have a look at this website it seems legit! Sureflo Exhaust - VE and VF Commodores

If you have a look at the dyno sheets which they have ran, it shows that they have just bolted on there 3" full exhaust system and achieved 260rwk WITHOUT A TUNE! and without a COLD AIR INTAKE!

That's a hell of a lot of power to gain obviously the engine light will come on but they have parts to override the computer for a small cost! whether that's a really bad thing to do or not, I don't know??

ill post my dyno figures up once I upgrade to a 3" inch cat back rather then the 2.5' I have now :(
