I've looked the evidence the GOP have put up trying to impeach Biden and it changes every other week or the person gives a different story under oath. The only thing the GOP can seem to do is shoot themselves in the foot and get rid of another House Speaker whilst not achieving anything significant except sit on the precipice of shutting down government.

LOL. X.... the home of Truth, kinda like Truth social. Full of lies and hype about that stolen election.

Get real, since Musk took over Twitter it has only gone one way and it's not a good way.

X is full of conspiracies and lies with maybe a little fact sprinkled in for good measure but good luck finding it.

Oh a bit like most companies he gets involved with.

Maybe there are some people in the GOP left who aren’t complete partisan nutters? They seem to listen to Trump pretty well, making sure the border bill wouldn’t get up because the Donald said so.

Because it was a **** bill.

Does it matter? Threatening to call out the lawyer attack dogs when you’re constantly banging on about free speech is the height of hypocrisy.

Well free speech isn't the right to break the law, getting lawyers involved is following the law.

Sure, but it predominantly seems to be the right that will shut down comments or opinions they don’t like or threaten to get lawyers involved to shut up dissent.

Just have a look at the LNP which doesn’t allow comments at all on their YouTube videos, but the Labor party does. Or Sky News, who have removed my comments in the past because they don’t conform with their echo chamber.

Supposed ”left wing“ media is constantly under attack by lawyers hired by those on the right (who in a lot of cases are rich so they can afford the lawyers) to silence dissent.

We have no implicit freedom of speech in this country so it’s lawyers at fifty paces to determine what the “newspeak” will be.

Can you comment on ABC?

Maybe the LNP disabled comments because the only thing people can come up with is that Dutton is a potato...... hahaha really funny.

We don’t have an enshrined right to free speech in this country and quite restrictive libel laws so the winner of any argument is whoever has the most lawyers.

Oh a bit like most companies he gets involved with.

All companies aim to make a profit, it's something Musk excels at so I'm not sure what you are getting at here?

Or the hate speech watch dog out steps it's bounds maybe.
Not sure what you are getting at here?

Someone calling out Musk/X for hate speech under the guise of free speech is itself hate speech?

Ultimately if Musk want all speech to be free than the centre for hate speech should have the same rights as users on his platform. What Musk objects too is having posts on X called out for either been hate speech or misleading etc and that is costing him in advertising because advertisers don't want to be associated with those posts when their products are been advertised beside said posts. The lawsuit Musk had thrown out has nothing to do with free speech and everything to do with a loss of revenue.

Since Musk took over Twitter/X it's been a hot bed for misinformation which he supports and unfortunately he's paying the price for that.

**** a meme can be "Hate speech"

Sure they can, plenty posted on this forum are deliberately misleading or could be considered hate speech in some regard. Mostly stuff is let go unless we get specific complaints or it breaks the rules.

Well free speech isn't the right to break the law, getting lawyers involved is following the law.

And it is also a form of bullying. Rich people can afford to have lawyers file all sorts of frivolous **** via the courts which can be hard for private citizens to fight. Justice is supposed to be blind but unfortunately it's not blind to wealth. Those who can afford good lawyers tend to win cases or delay cases till the opponent runs out of money.

I've seen a guy accused of been a child molester walk free from the court because his very high priced QC lawyer did a great job of taking the prosecutions case apart and get just enough "reasonable doubt" to get not guilty verdicts.

True that that don’t allow comments but they don’t constantly bang on about freedom of speech either.

Maybe they disabled comments because too many inconvenient truths appear that contradict their narrative. Pointing out truths these days seem to be just as offensive to “the right” as racist or sexist speech is to “the left”.

I call BS on rich people bullying people.
If you can't afford a lawyer, there's legal aid.
If you have doubts about legal aid working for you then your case isn't rock solid.
If your case is rock solid, then a cat could represent you.

Have you not heard of SLAPP suits? Their entire existence is so rich people can bully small people into submission.
