Is that what I said?

Just because they are the government does not mean they represent the opinion off all the people.

You assume that 100% of the people in Gaza agree with the means and methods of Hamas and you know that is not the case and you completely ignore the fact that Gaza does not represent all the Palestinians or have you forgotten about the West Bank?

Not long ago I remember you bitching about Dan Andrews who was your duly elected Premier, do you not believe in democracy?

Democratic elections in these busted-arse, banana republics run by psychopathic, egotistic dictators backed by renta-thug gangs are usually the choice of =
Vote 1 = Your already self elected, smiling President for the last 20 years. ..... or
Vote 1 = to be disappeared to a gulag / concentration camp / torture cell / hastily dug hole in the ground.

We may complain about our democratically elected ruling team of incompetent bumpkins, but at least they are harmless.

Maybe the people should do something about it.

Easy to say from the comfort of a stable democracy. Maybe the North Koreans could do something about Little Rocket Man, or the Chinese do something about Winnie The Pooh.

Blaming the people for the shitty actions of their government doesn't get anyone anywhere. Our various governments here in Australia do some shitty and corrupt things despite the majority not wanting it but it still happens even in a democracy so what chance is there for citizens of a dictatorship?

Maybe a case of careful what you wish for so you don't get what you deserve...

The did the classic democratic thing of voting for the lesser of two evils as Fatah was corrupt af and doing nothing for the people.

Hamas came in promising the world to get elected (as all political parties do) and once they got elected turned into the worse of two evils. Unfortunately the people in Gaza haven’t been given another opportunity to vote for the lesser of two evils!

Did anybody read the story about all the money that was pumped into Hamas with the blessing of the Israeli government via one of the Arab states?

Israel has been playing both sides in this, blockaded Gaza but gave them just enough money to build a few things with the hope the population would be placated whilst they steal and occupy more land in the West Bank and Jerusalem. I guess that failed miserably for them!

Occupation/subjugation doesn't work, ask the Americans how it went in Iraq, Ask the Americans and Russians how that went in Afghanistan or the Americans/French how it went in Vietnam or the English about Ireland and Scotland.

Israel specifically supported Hamas (with millions of dollars) against Fatah as a divide and conquer strategy, needless to say it backfired on them spectacularly.

A cynical person would suggest that Bibi supported Hamas as it was the extremist organisation and Fatah was moving towards a two state solution and rapprochement with Israel.

Bibi doesn’t want a two state solution and wants to remove Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank to make them Israeli lands. What better way to accomplish that than to support the extremists to nullify the two state solution?

Yes I do believe in democracy. He was our elected premier and represented the people of Victoria. Does that mean you can't criticise them?

So it's ok for you to have a different opinion from your elected leaders but all those in Gaza are all in lock step with their leaders?

Hamas doesn't. Even if by your reasoning they represent the opinion of the people of Gaza, Gaza is not the totality of what is known as Palestine so your argument fails there too.

One thing is for certain, Palestinians want the Zionist government of Israel out of the lands recognised as Palestine and their own state to do as they please.
