Ok i am going to get 2 of them for my new car but i got one in a box right now. I want them to run prety hard but not sure if i want to get the 750.1 mono or the 1500.1 for the single one now.
Just wondering which one i should get?? As i want to run both of them max, is there much difference between the 2 amps

The difference between the two amp is one has twice the power of the other.

Get the 1500.1, you can hook that up to the single sub now and just adjust the gain accordingly. Those L7s are rated at 750wrms but a lot of people are pumping upwards of 1000wrms and the subs love it. That way when you get the second L7 just hook that up too.

EDIT: Actually just thinking that if you got the Dual 2-ohm subs, it will be wanting 4 ohms so the 1500.1 will only be putting out 750wrms (really about 900wrms with kicker underrating thier amps) so it will run fine for the one sub. You could get one 750.1 now and one later but I would just get the one big amp now, wire it all up and it will be a 2 minute job later just connecting the speaker cable.

Hey,

I have a dual 2 ohm kicker l7 15" running at 1 ohm from a DDM2. It would take close to 2000watts daily. It would bottom out some times but the 2008 series holds together. I used to have a 2004 series but that had a thermal meltdown and welded the voice coil to the motor.

If you are running an older L7, run it at least 1 ohm, make sure you have the power for it and are running wild fuses. You dont want your car to catch fire.

You'll be happy enough with the one sub for now it will go pretty hard, it will just get better with the second sub. By the way are we talking 12" or 15" subs? Because the 15" ones can handle more power.

Pedroski, Dan_VX_Spac can't run 1 ohm as his amp isn't rated to that, 2 ohms at best, and with dual 2 ohm subs then he must run 4 ohms.

Buying an amplifier which is 1 ohm stable would work out the best value in this case.

How much is the 1500.1 by the way?

The L7s have 2 voice coils, so if yours is a dual 2-ohm sub you can make either 1 ohm or 4 ohms at the amp. If you have a dual 4 ohm sub you can make either 2 ohms or 8 ohms at the amp.

If you have the dual 2-ohm sub than you can make either 1-ohm or 4-ohms, but the 1500.1 Kicker amp is not rated at 1-ohm so it won't work, so you will have to use 4-ohms. The 1500.1 is rated at 750wrms at 4-ohms but it will probably make a bit more, all Kicker amps do, and each amp makes different amounts of power. So buy the 1500.1 if your set on it, hook up the one sub and when you get the second sub than your car will have twice the bass. Or you can buy a amp that is rated to 1-ohm but then when you buy the second sub your bass power will actually go down.
