I got a surprise when I took off the heads thought I was missing lifters haha Interesting how 2 of the lifters sit on top in the retainer and other 2 sit underneath it! Also the pistons are filthy any good tips to cleaning then at home?

Oven cleaner works well enough. Clean the piston at TDC, then when you wind it down the bore any **** that might have gotten on the side tends to stick on the bore wall which you can then wipe away. Turn over and repeat a few times once all the piston crowns are clean and all the bores stay clean. Then wipe with a light oil or something like WD40 to keep those bores rust free.

Those spring loaded valve compressed are usually junk. If you've got an old g clamp laying around that will fit in grind the top piece in to a fork.

Fellas I’m ropable this valve spring replacement is the most frustrating part for me these bloody keepers are a bitch to get in it took me an hour to get the first ones done and about 6 times realigning the compressor it’s bent the bolts that came with it which i don’t understand as I paid $250 for this proper comp cams valve compressor tool should be heavy duty.
I don’t know any other way to do this in stuck
I see videos on YouTube and they say takes about 20 minutes to do the lot and there using the same tool as me I don’t see how they manage that without these alignment issues

u need the rocker bottom aligning piece for the bottom of the tool to sit in with the round bit, then u have to do it up like a rocker firm so it cant move then it will all secure itself and stay aligned for the springs

Mate thanks for that help with the rocker stands that’ll teach me for not reading the instructions correctly makes sense now do you think there’s any issue just using the rocker 8mm bolts on the compressor tool?

as long as the bolts thread down into it far enough as there is a bit of pressure on them, if u go too far they will bottom out so make sure its at least the same depth as when the rockers are done up
