I once again have another oil leak. First was whatever that gasket and two bolts are above oil filter (part of the pan). Definitely fixed the leak. Now some 7k km's later, I have a sump gasket leak. Quoted $600 labour, $200+ for gasket which must be timing cover as well (didn't talk to him) plus oil.

Can someone give me a guide on how to check that the L77 PCV valve is working please, as I have no idea what I'm doing and not sure if the mech would have checked it? I pulled the easily accessed rear plug and at idle, no pressure or vacuum from rocker cover. Lots of whistling and low to moderate vacuum from the disconnected line's plug, though I suspect I need to get to the other plug/valve? in the second pic. Advice appreciated.

As I understand it there is no pcv valve.
I can't imagine the rocker cover breathers getting clogged either, they're pretty wide.

The plug behind throttle body just clips off with the tabs same as the one on the passengers rocker cover.
