Ute was getting noisy. First I got a reconditioned tail shaft. That fixed up the rumbling when accelerating, but still got noisy at high speed. So next I replaced the front wheel bearings. That made a substantial improvement, so now I am wondering about rear bearings. Since they are roller bearings on utes, would they last longer (provided you aren't carrying half a ton in the back)?

Seal should go before the bearing. Then you replace both as a kit on the ute.

You'll have more noise than play when they go, at least that's what I've found with the rears. Unsure on life vs what the manual says, but definitely aftermarkets don't last as long as oem.

For things like wheel bearings you can't go past Timken bearings. OEM or better.
