Locating wire to turn on headlights VE

Hello,

I have a 2009 VE SV6
here Is a picture of the headlight/dimmer switch.
Which wire is for the headlights to go on.

there are many wires.

there would be a wire for the lights going off, I am hoping to find the one for the lights going on.

im adding a device which will turn on when grounded and triggered by 12V going off and on.

This is the same wire, the whole point of a switch is to open and close the circuit, so there's no "off" wire.

You're probably going to be better off trying to tap a source from an interior illumnation circuit somewhere, on most older cars people just used the circuit for the light arounf the cigarette lighter as it turned on and off with the head lights.

Have a search around, find the wiring diagrams and factory service manuals.

There is the same source for lighting behind the panels under the headunit. A three pin plug for smokers pack. 12v illumination and 12v power and an earth. You can see it and reach it by removing the panels on the trans tunnel on the drivers side. It’s clipped to a metal tab.

Just be careful messing with the wiring,
The BCM controls the auto shut down/operation of the lights.

There are also CANBus wires.
